Safety visual adhesive motifs for glass

There are different types of motifs that can be used for glass:

1. Frosted or Dusted Glass

This technique involves the use of a special type of vinyl film that is applied to the glass surface and creates a frosted or etched appearance. This visionstrip can be used to obscure the view and prevent people from walking into the glass.

2. Dots or Squares

These small adhesive motifs can be applied to the glass to create a pattern of dots or squares that helps people see the glass and avoid walking into it.

3. Stripes

Similar to dots and squares, stripes can be used to create a pattern on the glass that makes it more visible and helps prevent collisions.

4. Stickers

Stickers with clear, bold lettering can be applied to the glass to indicate that it is there and should be avoided.

5. Logo or Design

A company logo or custom design can be applied to the glass to make it more visible and add branding to the space.

It's important to note that the effectiveness of these visual motifs will depend on the size and placement of the glass, as well as the lighting conditions in the space.

The use of safety visual adhesive motifs on glass panels and doors is mandated by the Australian Building Code, specifically in the Building Code of Australia (BCA). The purpose of the safety visual adhesive motifs is to make glass more visible to prevent accidental collisions and injuries.

Glass can be difficult to see, especially in certain lighting conditions or when it is clean and clear. Safety visual adhesive motifs are designed to make glass more visible by adding a pattern or design to the surface of the glass. This pattern or design breaks up the surface of the glass, making it more obvious to people who are walking or moving around the area.

In Australia, the BCA requires safety visual adhesive motifs to be applied to certain types of glass, including glass doors and certain large panels of glass. The specific requirements for the size, spacing, and location of the glass window decor and visual glazing strips are outlined in the BCA, and must be adhered to in order to meet the building code standards for safety. Failure to comply with these requirements can result in fines or other penalties.
